Pest starlings and pigeons found a new home in the 28,000 square foot heated ceiling area of a hospital parking garage. It was important to keep the areas above the garage warm so that areas located above the parking garage could remain heated during the winter months.
The side effect was small starlings nesting in the insulation resulting in nesting accumulations on the ground, pipes and in the insulation. [+] Enlarge Photo
The starling were able to tunnel holes into the insulation using grasses, paper and other nesting materials.

The installer found that the pest birds were perching and nesting on all of the overhead piping and valves.

The on site facility's people tried to solve the pest bird problem by installing plastic owls through out the parking facility. [+] Enlarge Photo
